Why Gmail’s emails do not appear in my Hotmail account?

H. My son has a Gmail account և tries to send emails to my Hotmail account but I do not see his email. We tried, և I can send him emails, և he can receive mine, but I do not receive his emails. My other sons have Gmail accounts և I do not have this problem. Do you have any idea why, because it makes us feel puzzled?

– Dennis Laird

A: The first thing to check if you haven’t already is whether his emails may appear in your spam filter.

Next, your mail server may block your son’s messages because his account has been blacklisted as a source of spam. This can happen if your son does not know about it if the malware used his account.

Ask your son to see if he receives delivery error messages. If so, he or she should contact the Gmail service center.

H. I’m using a WD external hard drive to back up my computer, but now due to a cable issue, it will no longer be able to access it. The error message only says that I must measure it before using it. What I want to know is what is the best way to back up my computer so I don’t run into such a problem. Also, if there are some easy ways to get my information from an external hard drive, I would also like to know.

A: There are data recovery services that are likely to recover your data. Just search the internet for “data recovery service” և your city.

Depending on how much data you want to back up, you may want to consider a cloud service such as Google Drive, Amazon Cloud, or Microsoft OneDrive. Cloud storage offers two major benefits. First, your data is stored where your computer is not. If there is a fire or flood that damages your computer, your data will be safely removed from the site.

Second, you can configure items so that any folders you add to those folders ցանկացած any changes made to those files are automatically backed up. In short, do not forget about backup.

All three services offer a certain amount of data backup for free.

H. I’m sure there’s a reason (presumably face recognition) why MSFT decided to put a blue box on a user’s face when you activate either the native camera or a third-party camera. What I do not understand is why there is no obvious way to eliminate it. I want it to go away because it makes me nervous.

I have been looking for solutions, but so far nothing I have found works.

A: You are in good company. Quite a few people are wondering how to turn off that blue box. Unfortunately, I also could not find a way to do that.

By the way, this blue box is a feature of detecting and recognizing the built-in face of the camera. Using it, the Windows Photo app can automatically detect people in your photos և link album matches. You can turn this feature off by launching the Photos app by clicking on the menu icon, selecting Settings, then scrolling to the People section. But doing so will not get rid of the blue box.

A: I’m afraid that I can not diagnose the problem without a practical look.

So… I suggest you contact Kitsap Computing Seniors (kitsapcomputingseniors.org). It is a non-profit organization that provides computer support to people of all ages. And they offer help in both parts of Bremeron.
