While waiting for the debut of the Blue Jays, Springer has another problem

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) – Spr Niger Springer is currently working on another issue as he waits to mark his debut with the Toronto Blue Jay on a hamstring strain that has been exacerbated since the start of the season.

Springer was on track to play the Blue Jays in their first home game on Thursday before feeling stiff in the right-hand corner while driving the bases.

Manager Charlie Montoyo said ahead of Wednesday’s series final in Texas that Springer was running the bases after practicing hitting live before Tuesday’s game. Montuyo said there were no problems with the slope.

The 2017 World Series MVP has signed a six-year, $ 150 million, off-season contract with Houston.

Montuyo said the Blue Jays were still gathering information about the Springer Quartet, awaiting the results of an MRI scan. He did not know the seriousness of the additional soft tissue problem.

“Everyone is worried because those injuries, you just never know where they are,” Montuyo said. “It’s difficult, because you have to be careful, as in the case of a slope. Because if you pull it off worse, you’re really out for a long time. So one has to be patient and careful about those insults. ”

Springer opened the season on the injury list after not playing exhibition games since March 21. Initially, the striker was scratched from the March 9 game due to abdominal muscle stiffness.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, the 31-year-old said he was excited to have the opportunity to play on Thursday when the Blue Jays hosted the Los Angeles Angels at their spring training camp in Dunedin, Florida.

Montuyo described Springer as “slightly disappointed” on Wednesday.

The manager said that Springer stopped running when he felt the stiffness և when it did not calm down, he realized that it was more than squeezing էր it was MRI.
