JASNA, Slovakia (AP) – Petra Vlhova և Mikaela ֆifrin on Saturday organized another victory for women in the World Championship slalom.
Discipline leader Vlhova from Slovakia started the fastest time on the hill in her home race, where she trains regularly.
Shifrin, who won a record 44 World Cup slaloms, was 0.27 seconds behind. The American won the race when it was last held in a Slovak resort five years ago.
“I ran well. “I did everything I wanted to do,” Vlhova said, adding that she recently plans to ski “without brakes, just to refuel.”
Vlhova և Shifrin has won 30 of the 31 World Cup slaloms held since January 2017. Swiss Michelle Isin interrupted only once.
Gissin’s teammate Wendy Holder was 0.40 behind the third, and Austrian Katarina Lensberger had 0.91 points in the return match.
Two weeks ago at the World Championships in slalom, Liensberg defeated Vlhova և Shifrin, ending his four-time American world title.
The rest of the field, led by Gissin, chased the leading pair for a second more in this week’s race.
From the 26th, Shifrin’s teammate Paula Molzan took the fastest sixth time.
Dating last season, Vlhova has won six of the last eight World Championships.
For the first time in his career, he was able to win four races in one season, which Schiffrin won in seven seasons from 2012 to 2019.
The victory will also help Vlhova reduce the gap between World Cup leader Lara Gut-Behrami, who was out of the race. The Swiss skier is leading with 187 points, but usually does not compete in slalom.
It was originally planned to start the weekend with a giant slalom, but the organizers changed the schedule due to bad weather և GS was moved to Sunday.
