Ur Yurich Classic team players “let it tear” at a team event

AVONDALE, LA. (AP) – Tony Finau is one of the players in the PGA Tour who is going to take some unusual risks և big swings this week.

For the first time since 2019, the Tour Jurich Classic team of two is being held in New Orleans.

Although the second and final rounds call on the players of each team to replace the shots, it is the best goal ratio on Thursday of the first round, in the third round on Saturday. That was when the audience could see some of the highest rated players in the world trying to draw from all or nothing.

Finau is one of the longest-running tour hits. So is his teammate Cameron Champ.

“There is no reason for me to stand back at certain holes where Cameron took it out, in the corridor of the road,” said Finaou. “So this week I will definitely repeat the speed of the ball.”

Finaou mentioned a special 403-yard 13th hole, which he called “the driving part 4”.

“I see how I let it tear,” he said.

Although Bryson Dechambo is not on the field, he has five players in the top 10 in the world. Among them are No. 5 Xander Schauffele and No. 10 Patrick Cantley, who are on the same team.

They are friends who know each other well.

“We play almost every week at least once, we thought it was a bit ruthless,” said Schoffel, who finished third in the Masters standings. “We usually compete against each other week by week, especially with our nine little holes. So we know our games from the inside out. I think it will give us an advantage. ”

Designed by Pete Dye, the TPC Louisiana course is 7,225 yards long and is carved out of a swamp in Cyprus just southwest of New Orleans. It looks exotic from the Spanish moss hanging from the soaring, old Cypriot trees, whose unusual root system, known as the Cypress elbows, sometimes protrudes across the road a few yards from the base of the tree trunks. There is also a large, semi-famous alligator called the Hedgehog, because the foot is missing, which often appears in the water in the 3rd to 17th parts.

Tickets were limited to 10,000 due to the coronavirus epidemic, which was canceled by Zurich Classic in 2020. But the smell of carbonated oyster garlic և butter, one of Finau’s favorite local dishes, hangs in the air again.

These sights and smells bring comfort to Billy Horschel, the only player to win both the traditional single player (2013) and the team (2018) accepted in 2017.

Horschel, who worked with Scott Pierce three years ago, this time knocked out Louisiana native և former LSU player Sam Burns as a teammate.

“A Louisiana native on my team can only increase my chances of winning it for the third time,” said Horschel. “She is a really good thrower. He has come a long way. ”

The defending champions are 44-year-old Texan Ryan Palmer and 26-year-old Spaniard Jon on Rahm, who seem to be a strange couple from different continents և generations, who won by three blows in 2019.

This season, Rahe arrives in Louisiana without a win, but in second place with a fifth draw at the Masters in the top 10 in the top 10, which earned him the third world ranking.

“One of the reasons the partnership works so well is that we play such a game,” said Rah, noting that both players like to pay. “It’s a shooter’s golf course. “It must fit in very well with our strengths.”

Ur yurich also gives players the opportunity to strengthen their credentials in the Ryder Cup, the Presidential Cup, and other major international team tournaments held in alternate years. The Ryder Cup, in which the US team competes with the European team, is scheduled for the end of September.

“This is definitely another week when we have the opportunity to shine in front of our (Ryder Cup) captain և seniors,” said Finaou, referring to US Capt. Steve Stricker; in: “Who knows? You can look at a team that will represent the United States in the Ryder Cup later this fall.”
