Theo John On says he is moving from Market to Duke

DURHAM, AP (AP) – Striker Theo John On says he is moving from Marquette to Duke, another player leaving the Golden Eagles.

On Friday, John On said on Twitter that he would spend the last year of his tenure with the Blue Devils after consulting with his family.

“I would like to thank everyone who has been a part of my basketball journey,” he said.

Last season, 6 feet 9 feet John on average averaged 8 points, 5 hits and 1.5 blocks. His 191 career block ranks second in Marquette history. He has made 91 starts in the last three seasons.

Coach’s removal is part of a major overhaul of Market’s list under new coach Shaka Smart.

Other transfers from Marquette 2020-21 include Jam Amal Kane (Auckland), Kobe McQueen (Weber) and Simir Torrens (Syracuse). Dawson Garcia, who led Market’s first-year goal-scoring (13.0) և back-to-back (6.6) last season, has been named in the NBA draft, but has not ruled out returning to school.

On Thursday, Marquette announced the transfer of George Cave Mason and the transfer of Tyler Kolek և Clemson to Olivier-Maxense Prosper. The Golden Eagles also include a class of five freshmen, including three recruits who were originally committed to playing at Texas Smart.
