NEW YORK (AP) – Inc incinati Reds midfielder Nick Castellanos has been disqualified for two games and fined on Monday for his role on the pitch during the opening weekend of the season. Vice President for Field Operations.
Castellanos appealed the fine to Special Assistant McOn McHale Jr. չի will not be suspended pending an appeal.
Castellanos was disciplined for his actions in Saturday’s game against St. Louis, accusing him of “aggressive actions, inciting a bench-cleaning incident.”
Castellanos, who shook the house on the opening day, jumped out of the box before throwing his bat and struck the Cardinals’ pitcher from Jake Woodford Stadium at 4 a.m. Saturday. Castellanos took the ball and offered to throw it back to Woodford before throwing it out of the game.
The wild field shook Castellanos from the third,: he took a 7-2 lead with a header, colliding with Woodford, who captured the throw of Yadier Molina near the plate.
As Castellanos began to walk, Molina hurried from above, struck him from behind, and the benches and bulls emptied into the wild scene. Castellanos was expelled.
On Monday, Molina was fined alongside St. Louis’s third-placed Nolan Arenado’s Jordan Jordan Hicks, as well as Cincinnati striker Eugenio Suarez and midfielder Essie Winker.
Hale, the former Miami-Marlins Baseball Operations President, took over from Chris Young, who spent just one season as MLB discipliner replacing Torre. Young left to become CEO of Texas Rangers.
