Southampton end long unbeaten run in EPL despite Ings injury

SHEFFIELD, England (AP) – Southampton have given up their disappointment of losing another injury to Danny Ings, beating last-placed Sheffield United 2-0 to end their nine-game unbeaten run in the Premier League on Saturday.

The England striker came off the field in the 12th minute with an obvious injury to his right foot, which was received by the ball in a seemingly harmless circumstance during a free kick.

Southampton overcame Ings ‘absence as his replacement, Che Adams, scored from the 25th minute in the 49th minute to add James Ames Ward-Proves’ penalty kick in the 32nd minute.

More than two months into the Premier League win over Southampton 10 points away from the last three places will ease fears that Ralph Hassenhutl’s team is struggling to stay out despite a brilliant start to the season, which topped it in November. ,

“Sheffield United” was destined to win the second tier championship, before this 22nd defeat, the team with 12 points from security.

Due to injury this season, Ings is going to spend the third charm on the sidelines. In recent years, he struggled with fitness problems, although last season he was able to stay without injuries, taking second place in the championship list.

It remains to be seen how much the latter problem holds him back. Են Hasenhutl will be happy that striker Adams scored after a 16-goal drought.

It was also a great shot as Stuart Armstrong kicked the ball sideways after Sheffield United cleared the post, և Adams hit the post from outside the box.

Southampton took the lead after Ethan Ampado landed Nathan Tella in the area. Ward-Prose sent Aaron Ramsdale on the wrong track.

Defeat could be much harder for the hosts. Ramsdale saved Adams well և Takumi Minamino took a free kick from 10 meters away.
