On Monday, Washington Gov. Ayse Insley signed an emergency proclamation ordering state K-12 schools to offer some individual tuition to students.
“It’s time to go back to class,” he said.
The announcement instructs schools to offer a hybrid version to all kindergarten students, depending on the district, by April 5. All other students must have hybrid learning opportunities by April 19.
Until that day, school districts will require at least 30% of their weekly instruction as on-campus instruction for all K-12 students.
Even with an order, parents will still be able to keep their children at home if they prefer.
As the districts provide updates, we would like to know. What questions remain in your mind about students returning to school or teaching in person?
