ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) – San Diego Padres’ right-hander Joe Masgrow scored his first shot in the history of his hometown on Friday night against Texas Rangers 3. Winning only one main count with a score of 0.
Padres was the MLB’s only active non-stop franchise, in their regular season 8206 game from a 28-year-old man who grew up on the other side of the El Cajon Road in California.
“It’s possible it’s in Padres uniform,” said Masgrove, who has never thrown a ban on any level. “It’s unbelievable that this is the first time in the history of the franchise.”
Only in his second start for San Diego, which was a privilege to play his first game in 1969, did Masgrow (2-0) hit 10 և with 28 shots, which is less than one.
Padres manager Ayes Tingler allowed Musgrove to move away as he was very productive, knowing what it means to be a homegrown player who is ending an uninterrupted privilege drought in season 53.
“I think if it could be sweeter, more unique to him, to do it growing up in San Diego, to be on his team, it’s a perfect story,” Tingler said.
The only main figure of the Rangers was ey oi Gallo, who was hit by the field in the fourth move with two results. Jose Oze Trevino had a difficult position to reach the right field from the eighth to the final, and David Dahl was the first to score from the ninth right to the second strongman Jake Cronenworth.
“It was like I had three different scenarios where I thought I was lost,” said Masgrow.
Massgrow (2-0), who threw 77 of his 112 pitches for shots, is in his sixth major league season. He has previously played for Houston (2016-17), Pittsburgh (2018-20) and has never played a full game in his previous 84 careers.
“People are exhausted,” he said. “There was no way I could get out of that game.”
It was the main non-host profession this season, only the second full game.
The last major blow to the majors was thrown by Chicago Cubs’ Alex Mills in the game against Milwaukee on September 13, 2020. His catcher was Victor Karatin, who was also behind Masgrow’s plate.
San Diego acquired the big right on January 19 as part of a three-player seven-player deal. He played for Pittsburgh last season.
In his debut for San Diego last Saturday, he played in six relentless games against Arizona. He had no steps to win that game when he threw 57 of the 78 pitches for shots.
It was the fourth time that no shots were fired against Rangers. The last one was Mark Buerlene of the Chicago White Sox on April 18, 2007.
According to Baseball-Reference, before Masgrove և Padres, 307 people in the history of MLB had not hit. It included 293 individuals without hitting a և 14 combined “no”.
For the past 52 seasons, Padres has had its share of close calls. They broke up twice, most recently with a joint offer from Aaron Harang against the Dodgers on July 9, 2011. Juan Uribe ended the draw with a double by Luke Gregerson, then won 1-0 LA.
Will Myers pushed Padres to stay in the second final with his RBI double, then Tommy Pham scored from the second goal to the center-right 2. 0 in the game with Kohei Arihara (0-1).
Arihara made his debut at Rangers after playing his last six seasons at Aponia. He allowed five hits and three runs (two of which were scored) four times. He threw only 73 pitches.
Myers double brought Eric Hosmer home from the first base, although it took almost two minutes to double check to make a secure call. Hosmer put his left hand on the plate at about the same time as Trevino’s cleaning label grabbed his shoulder.
Myers ran home after Pham’s flying ball caught Leodie Taveras in front of a Rangers cross in the center right. Taveras caught it clearly, but when he turned to throw the ball again, he took it out of his glove and it rolled off him.
Padres. CF Trent Grisham led the battle after recovering from a 10-day injury list. He missed the first seven games of the regular season in March due to a left thigh strain. OF Brian O’Grady was selected as an alternative training site. Grisham scored 2 points in the third. 4 points, when Manny Machado became the author of the double.
Rangers. Right Hand Relaxing Matt Bush (Inflammation of Right Angle) և Third Stroke Brock Holt (Right Thigh Tension) was included in the 10-day injured list. Bush has made just three investments in his return, missing two 1/2 seasons due to two elbow surgeries. … LF David Dahl was out of action, manager Chris Woodward described as just a little bit of weather.
