The expected registration steps came just hours before midnight Wednesday as the Mariners prepared to meet the White Sox in the final of the 2021 opening day.
Seattle placed left-handed pitcher James Ames Paxton (left forearm tension) և outside midfielder Ake Frayley (left thigh tension) on a 10-day injury list after unexpectedly leaving Tuesday night’s game.
The Invaders recalled midfielder Braden Bishop to the right-hand pitcher Ljay Newsome when the list was moved.
Early Wednesday morning, Paxton and Frail underwent MRI. Governor Scott Service had no information about their condition when he released his campaign video to the media.
Newsome will be touted as a long-term emollient, while left-wing Nick Margevicius will replace Paxton in rotation.
Paxton has had several conversations with Servais since being suspended from his first start during the second performance.
“I spoke to him last night and this morning,” said Servis. “She stopped in my office late last night. She was definitely very disappointed. Leaving last night, he was a little more optimistic that it was not so serious. I know he woke up today, he is as strong as expected. “It’s really hard to speculate until you know what’s going on there. The only way you know it is to read MRI.”
Withdrawal of players from the alternative training site, which is also held at T-Mobile Park, is the easiest and fastest way to move the list thanks to the MLB protocols.
It is obvious that the fans are complaining about the best prospects, Jared Kellenich and Logan Gilbert, who should be invited. But sailors are committed to their plans.
“The plan for these players is to develop them, to make sure they are ready as soon as they get here,” said Service. “You do not want to suddenly derail everything for which you firmly believe, because now there is a registration point, or you have to fill it or not. I do not think it is a good development strategy at all. So we will stick to that plan there. ”
