How can I find a “technical janitor” who can help with a number of technical issues?

H. We are looking for what I freely call a “technology doorman”. By this I mean someone who can help us with a number of technical issues, such as computers, cameras, our TV, and so on. Even our cars can sometimes pass us.

We assume that the only alternative is the source of each product (computer shop, camera shop, etc.), but this seems unacceptable for simple solutions.

By analogy, we have a great “master” who can diagnose and repair a number of different items around the house: electrical, plumbing, carpenter, etc.

Any of your thoughts will be appreciated. It just seems reasonable that there is a good technological “master” somewhere.

A: I’ve seen a growing number of businesses offer just that kind of support. As with any service provider, do not be surprised if you have to try a few before you find the right one.

Just search for “Seattle tech support” in your web browser and you will find a number of options. And for what it’s worth, two sites, Yelp and Hello Tech, offer customer ratings. And Hello Tech has features that lead you to the specialized technical support you can look for.

H. Do you have any answer or hint as to why Windows 10 upgrade depends on 46%? I tried to wait more than 24 hours, no change. Getting help from Microsoft Help Desk is not helpful. I am running Win7, which is not currently supported. I’m at the end of my mind, I’m going to just buy it on a Mac instead.

A: The first thing I would do (if you haven’t already) is make sure your computer is compatible with Windows 10. This will tell you your manufacturer’s website.

If compatible, there are a number of things that can hinder upgrades, including lack of free space on your drive, your antivirus software, or incompatible external devices.

Here is the link to the article, which details the steps you can take to increase the chances of a successful upgrade. Groovypost.com/howto/prepare-computer-windows-10-creators-update-version-1703/

If you are not yet able to run the update, you can upgrade manually using the Media Creation Tool or the Windows 10 ISO file. Instructions for downloading ISO files can be found here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-windows_install-winpc/how-to-download-official-windows-10-iso-files/35cde7ec-5b6f -481c-a02d-dadf465df326:

H. I’m running Windows 10 on a computer և I get constant error messages related to Microsoft Office 365. It is an orange box that appears և says. “Update the office, please wait a minute”, but it stops, nothing happens, so I have to turn it off and restart. It happens all the time. I will be grateful for the correction.

A: There are a number of possible causes for this problem, from disrupted office work to misconduct in the office.

First, I would try to manually complete any Office process that you can find in Task Manager. Right-click on the system bar at the bottom of the screen եք Launch Task Manager. Then click on the Processes tab և scroll down the list և. List any Office-related processes և then click the ‘Finish’ button.

If the problem persists, try repairing Office. To do this, go to Control Panel ra Run rams programs և Features utility. Find Office in the Office Programs menu և highlight it, then click Change. Finally, click Restore.

If this does not fix the problem, start Office in safe mode. The add-on may cause problems. Starting in safe mode will prevent add-ons from loading. To start in safe mode, hold down the Ctrl key և Double-click on the application shortcut. Click Yes when a window pops up asking if you want to start the program in safe mode.

Last but not least, if the problem persists, it’s time to uninstall and then install Office.
