Former Washington staffers are asking the NFL to release the results of the report

WASHINGTON (AP) – Twenty former members of the Washington football team on Thursday asked NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to release the final report of an independent investigation into the organization’s behavior.

Owner Dan Snyder hired attorney Beth Wilkinson to conduct an independent investigation in July after several former employees filed allegations of sexual harassment in the workplace. In July, the NFL took over control of the investigation, which letters from employees and their attorneys say is now complete.

Wilkinson sent the comment to the league office. The message for the NFL spokesman was not returned immediately.

“The actions that we believe are detailed in this report should be reported,” the staff wrote in a letter to Goodell. “But there can be no accountability without transparency. And there can be no cure for any of us without understanding the truth, which will prove that we are not alone, that our claims are defended by others. ”

In a Super Bowl virtual press conference, Goodell said that Washington “has already made a lot of changes.”

“They asked for this kind of review,” Goodell said on February 4. “It simply came to our notice then. Dan and Tanya (Snyder) are going to make those changes for the football club. … It’s good to see that. But I expect Betty’s suggestions to be a plus. ”

Last summer, Washington hired Ason Eason Wright as team captain և is in the process of reviewing all of the game’s operations.

Seventeen women signed the letter to Goodell, three of them anonymously. They asked for the identity and other private information to be reviewed, but for the league to make the results of the investigation available to the public.

“Failure to do so would be a betrayal of the many women who dared to help provide vital information to the NFL investigation,” wrote attorneys Lisa Banks and Debra Katz in another letter to Goodell on Thursday. Banks and Katz said they represented 40 former employees on the team.
