Facebook data found on more than 500 million online accounts

NEW YORK (AP) – Details of more than 500 million Facebook users have been leaked to hackers.

Business Insider was the first to report the availability of the data set. According to the publication, it has information from 106 countries, including phone numbers, Facebook ID, full names, location, dates of birth and e-mail. Email Addresses:

Facebook has been dealing with data security issues for years. In 2018, the social media giant turned off a feature that allowed users to search for each other by phone number, revealing that the Cambridge Analytica political company had access to the information of up to 87 million Facebook users without their knowledge or consent.

In December 2019, a Ukrainian security researcher reported that he had found a database of more than 267 million Facebook users with more than 267 million Facebook users, phone numbers and unique user IDs. It is unclear whether the current landfill is related to this database.

“These are old data that were previously reported in 2019,” said a statement from Menlo Park in California. “We found this question and asked it in August 2019.”
