NHS Digital is testing new Artificial Intelligence (AI) software to read LFD test results, making reporting results faster, more understandable and more accurate.
Primary care staff, including members of the pharmacy team who report their test results, will be able to take part in this test from the end of next week, where they report the use of a smartphone or tablet. The trial involves drawing the test at the end of the normal process to report the results.
Attendance is not required և Staff will continue to present test results in the usual way, but taking part in the trial can help improve the overall reporting process. More information is available in the Primary Care Newsletter sent February 25, 2021.
As a reminder, NHS England և NHS Improvement (NHSE & I) expects contractors to assist pharmacy staff in using LFDs, but pharmacy staff involvement is voluntary. Employees who test themselves with LFD have a statutory obligation to report their test results, whether negative, positive, or invalid.
The UK Primary Care Assistance (PCSE) portal is open to contractors who urgently need to order LFDs, such as new staff. The second phase of orders և deliveries is planned, և contractors will be invited to order more shares on time. More information will be provided in the Primary Care Newsletter և by PCSE.
