Báez hits the helmet, the Cubs get stronger from the Mets’ mistakes in 16-4 rumps

CHICAGO (AP) – Javier Baes won the big helmet, և The Chicago Cubs took advantage of the New York Mets’s top four mistakes of the season with a 16-4 turn in a cold evening at Urgley Field on Wednesday night.

Baes, who hit four times on Tuesday, scored three runs in those six games, scoring his sixth career slam on the sixth move, releasing the reassuring Thor Hildenberg. The glittering shorts became the first player to go 4-0 in 4 games with one hit and then a Grand Slam in the next, as Gorman Thomas did for Milwaukee in the first two games of the 1978 season, according to STATS.

David Bote drove four runs as the Cubs won the second in a row after losing eight to six. Matt Duffy added three RBIs and Willson Contreras had two hits and scored twice.

After setting the 16th against Pittsburgh on September 15, 2019, Chicago recorded its maximum run.

Francisco Lindor hit his first home run for New York when he first contacted Ach aque Davis. In the third JD Davis made the score 2-0 with the double of RBI, but in the fourth the situation turned around by a large margin.

The “big ones” made three mistakes to meet their highest score in Philadelphia since the beginning of April 16, 2019. The Cabers hit the plate 10 times, chasing David Peterson (1-2) on their way to their steepest victory of the season.

Anthony Rizzo drove a single in the first race, and from there the events for the “Greats” began. The Cabers laid the groundwork when DGs lifted Baez to the ground for his third foul in two games and equalized when Duffy walked. Bote gave Chicago a 4-2 lead with two runs to the right of the singles, ազ the runners took the lead when Michael Conforto’s right-hander bounced home next to the scorer.

Ake Yak Marisnik was driving on the ground. Pinch hit Eric Sogard, who was fighting for Davis, scored the RBI single. And the Cubs got another run when Lindor instantly tossed in the first Ian Happ’s single, allowing Sogard from second. Hep was caught for the third time when he first tried to return the bag after being surrounded.

Davis lost two runs, five shots, and Alex Mills (1-0) worked three goals.

Peterson gave up six runs, scoring three and four hits in the 3 1/3 indie. Pete Alonso came out of Urigley Field with a mammoth homer on Wyland Avenue, but New York lost the first two games of the three-game series.

Great. CF Brandon Nimo came on due to a stiff hip. Mets manager Luis Rojas said Nimmo was a little more aware of the issue when he woke up on Wednesday night to play with it.

Cubs. Bullpen coach Chris Young has returned from the team due to a COVID-19 test.

RHP Trevor Williams (2‐1, 5.02 ERA) wants to win his second consecutive start, and LHP Joey Lucchesi (0-1, 5.40) gets the ball back to Mets with NL Cy Young double winner Jacob DeGrom to push Friday at home against Washington. Williams is 3‐1, starting with 2.08 ERA four times against New York. On Saturday, Lucci scored three points in a 7-2 defeat in Colorado, New York.
