2 minutes of silence in sports to mark the death of Prince Philip

LONDON (AP) – A minute of silence was observed at the Grand National Equestrian Championship երում Friday’s English National Cricket Championships to mark the death of Prince Philip at the age of 99.

Cricket is the sport with which he was most associated as a lord, founded by the two-term president of the Marilybo Cricket Club, which is considered the guardian of the rules of the game.

For 43 years, Philip donated the Lord’s Taverners ECB Trophy to the English Cricket Champions before leaving office in 2017.

The և Wales Cricket Council of England remembered him as “a lifelong cricket fan, a talented playmaker”.

“His passion for the game he loved was well-known. The trophies given to the և Men և Women չեմ Champion չեմ Cups are a tribute to our commitment to the sport, ” said ECB President Ian Watmore. “We owe him a great deal of support and passion over the decades.”

Philip was an honorary member of the MCC ockey ockey club, which owns racetracks in Britain.

The silence was maintained before the start of the second day of the Grand National Assembly race in Antre.

At the Liverpool racetrack, the flags were lowered halfway to Wembley Stadium in London, England’s national football stadium.

“We extend our deepest condolences to Her Majesty the Queen and our Duke of Cambridge,” said the Football Association of England.
